Dream it and go for it!

Bob started making wine in 1968, never dreaming he’d eventually open and run a vineyard and winery. But that started in 2005 with the planting of the first hybrid grapes, and continued in 2009 with the construction of the winery. Sort of retired from pastoring small United Church of Christ churches, he now follows his life-long passion and loves every minute of it.

Make it a passion!

Marilyn, Bob’s wife, is a retired speech pathologist and life-long gardener among many other things. She manages the tasting room and does a lot of support work in the vineyard.

Our New Employees

Dustin and Hannah Strong, owners of Otium Brewing in Miles City, moved to the property and began working parttime for the winery in June 2024. They are both vineyard and winery apprentices and add a lot to our staff in terms of youth, business smarts and enthusiasm.

  • Whether pruning in Spring, making wine in Fall or serving customers all year long, the Strongs are a key part of our team at Tongue River Winery.
